The Purpose of Grand County Internet Services is multifold:
1. Bring a livable income to the owners
2. Bring local access Internet dial up services to Grand County individuals and businesses
3. Provide information on Grand County to the world.
4. Start a basis for electronic services in Grand County to the world
1. We moved to Grand County to semi retire away from the hustling crowd and to give our daughters a good atmosphere in which to grow up. We do not have extended savings to "retire" but we do not have large expenses to live on as our property is paid for and we just need the basic living requirements. We expect our business to allow us to provide us with enough money that we can enjoy life and the amount we need to do that is just above the Grand County average income level. We are not out to become rich off our services!
2. There has been a lack of local Internet dial up services in Grand County. We hope to provide these services in a manner that will satisfy ourselves and the people of Grand County. As these services startup, we have incurred large startup costs that will need to be paid for. We plan to price our services such that we can maintain good services for the county as a whole. We also do not plan to do everything. We want our services to enhance and build up other services in the county. We plan to try to do the following as we have time.
3. I like Grand County and would like to see it prosper. I plan to develop web services that provide a source of information about us both to ourselves and to people wanting to find out about us. I plan to develop a web site that can do this. We will point our web site to everyone who is providing information about Grand County. They can choose to point back to us or not. We will look at our web site construction so that people can come back to us if these sites do not point back to us. We will take all the help we can get in providing this information to the rest of the world and will try to help those who help us. We will investigate how this can be done both thru private and commercial interests. I hope that these services can supplement the income of the business to make our dial up and web page services more affordable to everyone in the county.
4. I believe that Grand County will see a flourish of new businesses based upon the Internet once our business starts. Many businesses will just add new services to their existing business to serve their current customers. Many new small businesses will startup based on Internet, these people are waiting and wanting local access just to get started. Many home businesses will be attracted here once local dial up is available. Many people will just want to help and work on the internet for the fun of it and that is a great resource
The Internet is a leveling force and allows a lot of power to individuals. I look forward to these individuals and businesses working with me so that we can improve our economic basis. One of the great things about the Internet is that it is relatively non harmful to the environment and I think this is one thing most residents of Grand County are interested in.
